Selecting content from musical providers like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Pandora as alarm sounds was the top-requested feature for Google's Clock app.    

We all love music, and we all need to get up in the morning. Why not combine the two? Perhaps you subscribe to a music-streaming service or have a large digital music library. Get your money's worth and use that music as your alarm clock.  

I was the lead designer on this project and I also worked across business development & marketing teams to support branding and design assets for Spotify, YouTube and Pandora integration launch.

Impact

Over 85% of DAU(Daily Active Users) use this feature and the Google Clock app provides a pleasant wake up experience. Clock YouTube Music alarm is driving ~100K YouTube watch times in seconds!

Helping you face the day with your favorite music

Having the option to choose streaming music as your alarm isn’t going to change your life in any meaningful way. However, it might make it easier to get out of bed in the morning, and put you in a better mood to face the day. Which isn’t to be sneezed at.
